Lauren Gabler Masterson

As a member of the VHTRC board, Lauren intends to grow the already-strong trail running community through increased outreach and inclusion. She will partner with fellow VHTRC race directors to identify ways to increase participation in VHTRC events, particularly with new trail and ultra runners. The opportunity to serve on the board will allow Lauren to bring the many benefits of running to more people – an effort that is of the utmost importance to her.

As the Race Director (RD) for the Bull Run Run 50 Miler and PB&J 25k + 50k, and co-RD of The Ring, Lauren is an active member of the Virginia Happy Trails Running Club (VHTRC). With almost 30 years of running experience (from the 100 meters to the 100 miler), she loves everything about the sport – the chance to be outdoors, the opportunity for self-improvement, and most of all, the community spirit.

Lauren’s contributions extend beyond VHTRC. She has served on the board of the Washington Running Club, led teams for Back on My Feet, and currently organizes weekly group runs for DC Capital Striders in Alexandria. Through these roles, she has built programs that strengthen community ties.
