I love VHTRC!

There is something special about these trails, and our wonderful and vibrant community of runners and supporters is like family to me. Running on trails has been a life-long passion and I’ve been a member of VHTRC for I don’t even know how many years.

I am race director for the Furbutt 24-hour backyard ultra and I frequently volunteer at other VHTRC races, events and runs. I have spent a fair amount of time training for, finishing and not finishing many of these same races, and I have no regrets because I always learn and grow from my time on the trails.

I am always up for supporting the club, and I have lots of ideas, including:

• Capturing some stories and insights on the founding and early years of the club while we still have the opportunity, I think it is important to know our origin story;
• Recruiting and welcoming new members in a more purposeful way, as well as cultivating volunteers and supporters and inspiring the next generation of furbutts; and
• Crowdsourcing ideas and input from members on how we can improve runs and races.
