Fast times at Holiday Lake 50K
Over in Appomattox, VA, Matt Woods was second male and Martha Nelson was third female at David Horton’s 17th annual Holiday Lake 50K on Saturday. Marty Lindemann was the first female over 50 in a PR. Many VHTRC members reported PRs and fast times on the two-loop course.

Sabrina Moran First Female at Rocky Raccoon 100
Many VHTRC runners traveled to wet and muddy Huntsville, Texas for the Rocky Raccoon 50/100 on February 4-5. Sabrina was the first female finisher in 17:06. 78-year-old Ed Demoney finished the 50 mile in 17:14.

David Frazier Overall Winner at the West Virginia Trilogy
Our friends at the West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners’ club held the West Virginia Trilogy over the past weekend, October 7-9. Described as a “triptych of runs on the Eastern Continental Divide”, runners are able to run a 50 km race, then a 50 miler, and then finish their long weekend up with a trail half marathon.

Records fall at Holiday Lake 50K+
Matt Woods set a course record in 3:28 on his way to winning the Holiday Lake 50K+ near Appomattox on Saturday. Aaron Schwartzbard and Brian Greeley battled for ninth and tenth, respectively, and Sabrina Moran was the second overall female in 4:52. Many other VHTRC runners finished as well.
